NEWS: The grand opening of Silver Street this weekend
Fridays are due to get that little bit funkier with the grand opening of Derry’s newest venue ‘Silver Street’ this week.
Connected to the city’s oldest pub, the River Inn, Silver Street will offer its patrons the opportunity to sample two completely different types of music under one roof, as there will be live music in the venue while a DJ takes to the decks in the cellar.
This Friday is a funkfest at Silver Street with live music from the Mindbenders, Soulseekers and Portabello, with VIP booths available too… for those of you who want some VIP treatment with table service.
The new venue and adjoining bar will now feature free live music every night from Thursday to Sunday, and will also operate as a restaurant too each night until 8pm.
Thursday night’s, (from July 2nd) will be RnB and Hip Hop upstairs with live music in the cellar bar, but come Friday it will be ‘Thank Funk is Friday’ while Saturday night will consist of live music in the cellar with a DJ in the main room. Sundays will be chill out night with Motown, and 60,70,80s music in the main bar.
But one thing’s for sure, this week we will definitely be thinking Thank Funk it Friday!
